Malawi Malombe sample collection trip

We had a very successful field trip in Jan/Feb 2017 to lakes Malombe and Malawi, collecting more than  photographs, fin clips, and tissue samples from more than 1100 cichlid fish.

Participants include B. Rusuwa, R. Zatha (University of Malawi), R. Durbin, H. Svardal (Sanger Institute), E. Miska and G. Vernaz (University of Cambridge), and George Turner (Bangor University).

Many of the samples were for the Malawi-Malombe fisheries-induced evolution project. We were able to confirm dramatically different sizes of breeding males between the lakes.
